Roofing · Conklin systems
Restore the roof instead of tearing it off.
Commercial roofing for flat and low-slope buildings using Conklin fluid-applied systems — a seamless coated surface over a sound existing roof, with far less disruption than a full replacement.
The detail
What you're actually buying.
What Conklin systems are
Conklin makes fluid-applied roofing systems — coatings and membranes rolled or sprayed over an existing commercial roof to form a new seamless surface. Lone Bull installs Conklin systems.
Restoration instead of tear-off
If the deck and insulation are sound, a restoration coating can renew the roof surface without stripping the whole assembly. Less disruption, less landfill, no tenants working under an open roof.
When replacement is the answer
Restoration is not always right. Saturated insulation or a failing deck needs replacing, and we will say so rather than coat over a problem.
Built for a cold climate
A seamless surface with no fasteners or seams to open up matters most where the roof freezes, thaws and carries snow load all winter. Fewer joints means fewer places for water to find.
Questions
Straight answers.
What is a fluid-applied roof?
It is a liquid coating system applied over the existing roof that cures into one continuous membrane. Because it is seamless, there are no laps or fasteners across the field of the roof.
How do I know whether my roof can be restored?
It comes down to what is under the surface. We look at the roof, check for wet insulation and soft spots, and tell you whether restoration is honest or whether it needs replacing.
Does the building have to shut down?
Usually not. Restoration work happens on top of the existing roof, so tenants generally keep working underneath while it is going on.
Which roof types does this suit?
Flat and low-slope commercial roofs — the kind on most retail, office and light industrial buildings around Dickinson. Metal roofs can also be candidates for coating systems.
Do you do winter roofing?
Coating work is temperature-dependent, so scheduling matters. Call any time of year and we will tell you what can be done now and what should wait for conditions.
If the roof is too far gone to coat, we will tell you that rather than sell you a system that hides the problem for one season.
